Sloppy Joe Recipe With A Splash Of Red Wine
Ingredients
For the Sloppy Joes:
1 pound floor beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (15 ounce) can tomato paste
1 (12 ounce) bottle of pink wine
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste
Hamburger buns, for serving
For the Red Wine Sauce:
1 bottle (750 ml) dry pink wine
1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup packed gentle brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly floor black pepper
1 bay leaf
