Cajun Sloppy Joe Recipe With Andouille Sausage

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons dried thyme
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1 pound ground andouille sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 pink bell pepper, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the sloppy joe homemade Joe Sauce:
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato paste
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
For serving:
- Hamburger buns
- Optional: shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, and bitter cream
Instructions
To make the sloppy joe filling:
1. In a big skillet over medium heat, brown the Andouille sausage till cooked by way of. Drain off any extra grease.
2. Add the onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook dinner till softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
3. Pour in the tomato sauce, water, sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoning. Bring to a simmer and cook dinner, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
4. Stir in the cooked ground beef and prepare dinner until heated via, about 5 minutes extra.
5. Serve the sloppy joe filling on toasted hamburger buns.

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the andouille sausage till cooked by way of. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
To make the homemade Cajun seasoning: Combine all of the spices in a small bowl and blend well.
Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning over the onions and peppers and cook till softened. Add the garlic and cook dinner for 1 minute more.
Stir in the tomato sauce, water, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and prepare dinner for 10 minutes.
Return the andouille sausage to the skillet and cook until heated via. Serve on toasted buns.
To assemble the sloppy joes:

2. Stir in soup, broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings.
